Giuseppe Carrubba, critico d’arte e curatore, interviene al CACT sul tema della musica elettronica, della letteratura e dell’arte visiva in rapporto alla musica di Giovanni Dal Monte aka La Jovenc. Il cinema e la danza contemporanea, insieme al blues e al jazz, rappresentano il punto di partenza di un percorso iconografico di suoni e visioni per una musica evocativa ad alto potere visionario, basata sulla contaminazione tra generi musicali ed artistici.
La videoarte di Pier Giorgio De Pinto e di Devis Venturelli, il cinema di Bruce LaBruce, l’arte di Bertozzi & Casoni sono alcune tra le collaborazioni più importanti, dove le suggestioni musicali stabiliscono sinergie e parallelismi in ambito visivo.
MaQs Rossi, musicista con una formazione di ingegnere del suono, compone canzoni, dopo aver studiato sassofono, in rapporto allo studio delle modalità espressive della propria voce. Ha collaborato con musicisti hip hop della scena underground del nord Italia e della Svizzera italiana, come la formazione Ciemme di Lugano con cui ha inciso l’album Ultima Dea nel 2010.
Dopo diverse collaborazioni sotto forma di featuring con produttori musicali, decide di iniziare, nel febbraio del 2011, un progetto solista con canzoni nuove basate sulla ricerca della voce come suono principale, con un lavoro dal titolo Vocal EP pubblicato da qualche giorno. È tecnico del suono allo Star Studio Sound di Riva S. Vitale, Lugano, e collabora con la Radiotelevisione della Svizzera italiana.
Pier Giorgio De Pinto, artista visivo e coordinatore del CACT, è il moderatore dell’incontro e del dibattito.
La serata, corredata da proiezioni e brani musicali, sarà seguita da un rinfresco all'aperto.

Giuseppe Carrubba, art critic and curator, lectures at CACT about electronic music, literature and visual art in relation to the music of Giovanni Dal Monte aka La Jovenc. Cinema and contemporary dance, as well as blues and jazz, depict the beginning of an iconographic way of creating sounds and visions for an evocative and highly visionary music, based on the contamination among a variety of musical and artistic styles.
The video works by Pier Giorgio De Pinto and by Devis Venturelli, the cinema by Bruce LaBruce, the art by Bertozzi & Casoni are just some of his most important collaborations, where the musical influences set up synergies and parallelisms within the framework of the visual.
MaQs Rossi, musician with an education as sound engineer composes songs – after studying saxophone – in relation to the expressive qualities of his own voice. He has collaborated with hip hop musicians within Northern Italy underground scene, as well as Southern Switzerland, like for instance the group Ciemme of Lugano, with whom he recorded the album Ultima Dea in 2010.
After different featuring collaborations with music producers, he decides to start in February 2011, a project as a soloist made with new songs. This is based on the research around the voice as a main sound. The new work entitled Vocal EP has been recently published. MaQs Rossi works as sound technician at the Star Studio Sound in Riva S. Vitale, Lugano, and collaborates with the Swiss Radio and Television broadcasting.
Pier Giorgio De Pinto, visual artist and coordinator of CACT, is the moderator of this lecture-round table.
At the end of the discussion supplied by video projections and music fragments, an outdoor bar follows.
