Text by Tamir David for COME CLOSER: EXPERIMENTING WITH A WUNDERKAMMER OF VANITIES.

Come Closer

Vanity strikes me as devolution of self-preservation through self-adoration. In a world where the creators are ever so busy with promoting their own image only oneself exists. Self-definition is bound to transform accordingly.

Creating objects of Vanity in this context suggests the practice of shaping an idol in the image of the worshiper through perverse conception of self. As social phenomena It is a meaning of separation deeming the other inferior or even disposable.
